Hemisphere Design developed detailed concept designs for the upgrade of the Magill Road streetscape precinct. Magill Road is a precinct that includes residential, entertainment, business and retail developments, and the design enhances its unique character, while creating a ‘sense of place’ and continuity of branding, style and overall vision.
The project aims to encourage more trade and activity along Magill Road by creating an inviting space that’s fresh and usable. The new vision includes illuminated buildings, bold murals, new bus stops, street art and a signature street tree planting. As the location has quite a rich cultural history, community consultation has been a key element within the process and has included forums to identify issues and desired outcomes, and help to define the overall 'identity' of the precinct. The process has involved a detailed landscape analysis and design development in order to define and 'brand' Magill Road, creating a shared vision for the street and precinct.
